More Tiny Dictionary

Since I posted T's list of words we've tried to keep track of the ones I missed. I know there are others, but I just don't remember them at the moment.

"Ball"
This was one of his earliest words, but I forgot until I heard him say it the other day. "Ball" has been preempted by "car."

"Hot"
I love this one. It's heavily aspirated at the beginning and ends very abruptly with and accent... hhhhUH. The 'h' sound kind of crescendos up to the accent.

"Bubble"
This was actually on the original list, but we had a new bubble moment yesterday. T got bored of charming the ladies at the knit shop and went exploring. He found some bottles of detergent for hand knits and got all excited "bubbuh, bubbuh, bubbuh."

"Apple"
Although T recognizes actual apples by name, he seems to have a broader definition of the word. We walked into Whole Foods on Saturday and he immediately pointed to the orange display and said "apple." He picked his own "apple" and cradled it in his arms for most of the shopping trip. I kept telling him it was an orange, but he maintained that it was an apple. He started out saying 'bapple' but is more consistent with his apple pronunciation these days.

"Spoon"
It sounds like something between "boo" and "poo" but it's obviously a spoon he's talking about.

"Banana"
He's very articulate with his "nana" sound, but chooses to ingore the 'ba' part. It's ok, he gets plenty of 'bah' in his bubbles.
